Mika got a 4 on her AP Music Theory test!

Yes, it is true, Mika got a 4 on her AP Music Theory test! What this means is that she took a College class in High School and to have it count at the University you have to get a 3 or higher (the points goes from 1-5, where 5 is the best) here is a better way of explaining it.

AP Exam scores are reported on a 5-point scale as follows:

5  Extremely well qualified*
4  Well qualified*
3  Qualified*
2  Possibly qualified*
1  No recommendation**

*Qualified to receive college credit or advanced placement
**No recommendation to receive college credit or advanced placement

So Mika did very well especially because Music is a REALLY hard degree! Anyway she is taking another test in August and if she passes that she will not have to take Music Theory her first year! Also she got 6 college credits for the AP test and that equals to $1300 or so for the same college credits at the U of U. So she will save some money also.

AND.... she got $5600 in Federal Grants, that are not to be paid back to the government and with her scholarship from the U of U on top of this it looks like school tuition, books and most of her private lessons will be paid for. It means that school and it all is ALMOST FREE for Mika this year:o)

Mika with her letter she got from the AP credits. Way to go Mika getting a 4 on the test! You have music talent for sure. Keep up the great work!!
