Track Meet at Viewmont High School, April 28th, 2011

Millika was at the 2nd Track Meet today at Viewmont High School. Today she was running the Medley with 4 girls. First girl runs 200 meter, Second girl runs 200 meter, Third girl runs 400 meter and Fourth girl (Millika) is the anchor and runs 800 meter. So Millika had the hardest spot on the team today and she gave it all she had. She came in second and she was only 2 strides behind. She found out later that her team was less then 1 second after the winning team!

She learned a lot today about herself and the way she will run an 800 meter next time. Video of the Medley is in the Family Home Video section.

Team Spirit when it is best! The girls are getting ready for the Medley and there is no better way than to say a prayer together :o)!

Millika is warming up and ready for her run.

There she goes on her 800 Meter run.

What I found afer Skype with Mormor and Morfar today!

I am always the last one to talk to Mormor and Morfar so I can set up the time to talk next and kind of wrap it all up. Well it was VERY quiet in the house and this is what I found!! I hope you enjoy it:o)

All 3 kids sleeping in the living room. Mika and Millika on each their own couch and McKay on the floor. No one was arguing now:o)

And here is Lincoln all snuggled up in our bed. I understand now why it was so quiet :o)

Mika is going to the University of Utah's School of Music!

Today Mika finally got her letter from the University of Utah's Music School. She had gone to a talent scholarship audition on March 26, 2011. Where she preformed and tested to first of all get into the Music School and also to see if she could get a Talent Scholarship. She of course tried out in the Voice department and there were MANY people there together with her. And it was not just Voice either there were all different kinds of instruments and many different levels of talent. Some students had gone to 2 or more years of College and they had many lessons.

Well here Mika is and what does she have in her hands ....?

Do you think it is a Talent Scholarship in Voice....... ?

Yep it is:o)!!! Mika got almost 1/2 tuition for the first year of College.

Every year she will have to go back and audition to keep the scholarship and sometimes they up the Scholarship if the student has improved and there is funding for it. And since Mika has not had many lessons and she got it on mostly raw talent, there might be a bright future for her at the U, you never know:o) We are so proud of you Mika! You are one in a million with HUGE talent and great potential to become an even better singer and performer. We love you girl :o)
