Davis Invitational Track Meet

Millika was running the 3200 meter at the Davis Invitational Track Meet and she was hoping to get a new Personal Record, beat the School Record and qualify for state. Did she do it!

 

A tired runner but she did it. She ran a PR of 11min 28 Sec. She broke the school record by over 3 seconds and she qualified for the State track meet in 2 weeks in the 3200 meter race. WAY to go Millika you are just AWESOME!!

State Model UN with Woods Cross Debate team

 At the Utah State High School Model United Nations Conference held at the University of Utah on April 23, the Woods Cross Wildcat debate team took top honors for the seventeenth year in a row.

            Woods Cross debaters excel in the statewide Model United Nations program, an education by simulation event in which students research and prepare to represent different countries’ views in debates on international issues.  This year Wildcats represented India, South Korea and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Approximately 35 schools and 850 students participated.

            Student participants are: Austin Beck, Sarah Beynon, Jack Brimhall, Kaestle Charlesworth, Colin Cole, Josh Figueroa, Jade Hall, McKay Hall, Allison Harden, McKay Holbrook, Millika Holbrook, Ethan Johnson, Wirtjo Leonard, Erick Luna, Daisy Mele, Anne Moscon, George Muhlestein, Romney Oaks, Sally Olea, Hans Pande, Nicole Pemberton, Ben Powell, Chelsea Sather, Sasha Sloan, Tuscan Thompson, London Weiler, and Elliott Wood.

 And they won for the 17th year in a row. McKay has been on the team the last 3 years and Millika this year!!  Millika and McKay were partners and they took FIRST place together :o) Lots of fun and a great way to end the debate year!!

McKay got his mission call. Where will he be going in the world!

I dreamed last night that the call came today and it was Denmark he was going to. We thought it would take longer, the papers were only turned in on Easter Sunday 8 days ago and with General Conference we for sure thought at least one more week. BUT the letter came today. So where is he going? Did I dream it right ? ;o)

 Here is the letter and it is a THICK one. Is he going to where he really wants to go :o)?

 I think he might be happy about the call. YES it is Denmark Copenhagen Mission and he leaves July 31st, 2013 for the MTC in Provo. He will only stay 1 1/2 week because he knows the language.

 A hug from his little SIS. They are so cute together and the BEST of friends! They will both have a hard time for the next 2 years while McKay is in Denmark!!

His call was signed on April 9th, 2013 and that is 25 years after I got baptized into the LDS church. I think that is so AWESOME and what a treat to have a great son go serve the Danish people! It is all coming back full circle :o)

Guess who had their Wisdom Teeth out ? :o)

Millika and McKay just came home from having their Wisdom Teeth out. They are still living but not ready to dance yet :o)

 McKay needed to get them out for his mission and Millika did it to keep him company ;o)

Millika running for Student Body Junior Officer at Woods Cross High School

Millika after a good practice at Track but now she is not "just" a runner. She just got elected for SBO. So she will be a Student Body Officer for the Junior Class next school year. Her motto was "Got Mill", very clever :o) !7 students ran for SBO but only 4 could win and Millika was one of them. It was 1/2 vote from the other students and 1/2 vote from all the teachers!!

Mckay won again this year the Mock-Trail State Championship

Defending State Champions in Mock-trail. They came, they worked and they did it again. State Champs 3-0 win in the final. Way to go team. You got it going! McKay was the closer again this year. He would be on heck of a Lawyer but what would he not be good at :o)

McKay took Millika to Senior Prom 2013

McKay took Millika to Senior Ball/Prom because this will be the only High School dance where they will be together. McKay is going on a mission and graduating soon before Millika is 16 and can start dating. So the only way they could do this was if they went together :)
