Mika got a 4 on her AP Music Theory test!

Yes, it is true, Mika got a 4 on her AP Music Theory test! What this means is that she took a College class in High School and to have it count at the University you have to get a 3 or higher (the points goes from 1-5, where 5 is the best) here is a better way of explaining it.

AP Exam scores are reported on a 5-point scale as follows:

5  Extremely well qualified*
4  Well qualified*
3  Qualified*
2  Possibly qualified*
1  No recommendation**

*Qualified to receive college credit or advanced placement
**No recommendation to receive college credit or advanced placement

So Mika did very well especially because Music is a REALLY hard degree! Anyway she is taking another test in August and if she passes that she will not have to take Music Theory her first year! Also she got 6 college credits for the AP test and that equals to $1300 or so for the same college credits at the U of U. So she will save some money also.

AND.... she got $5600 in Federal Grants, that are not to be paid back to the government and with her scholarship from the U of U on top of this it looks like school tuition, books and most of her private lessons will be paid for. It means that school and it all is ALMOST FREE for Mika this year:o)

Mika with her letter she got from the AP credits. Way to go Mika getting a 4 on the test! You have music talent for sure. Keep up the great work!!

Millika ran in the North Salt Lake 14th Annual 5K Fundraiser, July 2nd, 2011

Millika is loving her time running and this year she decided to run in the North Salt Lake 14th Annual 5K Fundraiser. There were 315 runners who participated in the 14th Annual NSL 5K and raised $3,500 for victims of the Springhill landslide.
She ran the 5 kilometers (3.2 miles) in 22:54.1 minutes and she was number 41 in the overall results out of the 315 runners. She took first in her age group 11-14 and she came in as the 4th "woman" overall out of the 149 ladies that ran. All the other ladies were a lot older than Millika where the closest was in the age group of 20-24.

She is running with the Woods Cross High School Cross Country Team and she beat all the High School girls in this race. She just knows what she want and go for it:o) Way to go Millika! You are a fighter and you set a goal and go with it.

She got a "Gold" Medal and she also won a 9 hole round of Golf with a golf cart at the Eaglewood Golf Course right next to our home which she is giving Grandpa tomorrow for his birthday;o)

And to share Mika's nice SOFT blanket is also great!!

AND.... Look at this sweet girl. Mille knows how to be comfy and still have fun :o)

Here is the PRICE for sharing Mika's SOFT blanket. You have to be able to handle a little of everything and still look good doing it. I LOVE this picture of Lulu with Lincoln's hat ;o)

Okay... So now McKay really can drive and yes he can DATE... He is 16 years old :o) He had a good day with his favorite food...Duck and Danish style pork roast, red cabbage and Danish cucumber salad. Yep, it was a wonderful day with the family!

Waking up McKay.... Lulu is right there on top of him. And the candy on his table is good too ;o)

Danish CANDY is on the table!! McKay is a very luck boy!!!

He got some great gifts and he is going to look awesome wearing them!!

Mille is NOT awake at all. It really is hard being young and have summer vacation!!

Cove Fort June 11th, 2011

Cove Fort in is in mid Utah and Lincoln's ancestors have helped build it. We went there today to see it with Mormor and Morfar.

Inside the Fort looking at the trees!

These trees were planted by the Pioneers in 1869. Unbelievable but true!
We could hardly believe that they were that old and still standing!

Lincoln, Morfar and Mormor on top of the Fort!

Mormor, Ann and Morfar. I just love my parents! They have done so MUCH for us and they will be missed when they go back to Denmark :(

WOW... look at all these mailboxes. They are for the Missionaries that live by Cove Fort!

On the way home we went into Filmore a small Utahn town and we saw this cool statue!

It was a beautiful drive with wonderful people to share it with :o)
We LOVE you, Mor and Far!! You are missed already. Please come back soon!!!

Bingham Copper Mine, June 9th, 2011

We have seen the Bingham Copper Mine from a View point before with Mormor and Morfar but we had never been "inside" it and that is what we did today!

This is the Copper Mine from far away on the Freeway. You can see the Mine from Space. Pretty cool!

This is one of the trucks that haul the "rocks" from the mine!

This is the information on the truck!

This is Morfar, Lincoln and Lincoln by one of the tires from one of those BIG trucks!

When Salt Lake City had the Winter Olympic in 2002. The Bingham Copper Mine gave a lot of money to help make the Medals. Pretty fun to see the story behind them!

And this is some of the mine. Pretty amazing and so fun to see! Those little dots that you see in the picture are the BIG trucks you saw before!
