Guess who had their Wisdom Teeth out ? :o)

Millika and McKay just came home from having their Wisdom Teeth out. They are still living but not ready to dance yet :o)

 McKay needed to get them out for his mission and Millika did it to keep him company ;o)

Millika running for Student Body Junior Officer at Woods Cross High School

Millika after a good practice at Track but now she is not "just" a runner. She just got elected for SBO. So she will be a Student Body Officer for the Junior Class next school year. Her motto was "Got Mill", very clever :o) !7 students ran for SBO but only 4 could win and Millika was one of them. It was 1/2 vote from the other students and 1/2 vote from all the teachers!!

Mckay won again this year the Mock-Trail State Championship

Defending State Champions in Mock-trail. They came, they worked and they did it again. State Champs 3-0 win in the final. Way to go team. You got it going! McKay was the closer again this year. He would be on heck of a Lawyer but what would he not be good at :o)

 AND the are going to National in Indiana May 8- May 11, 2013.

McKay took Millika to Senior Prom 2013

McKay took Millika to Senior Ball/Prom because this will be the only High School dance where they will be together. McKay is going on a mission and graduating soon before Millika is 16 and can start dating. So the only way they could do this was if they went together :)

Mckay won State Sterling Scholar in Debate and Drama

I am in shock and awe that we have been so blessed with a son like McKay. Last night he won Sterling Scholar in the Debate and Drama category. This will pay for his 4 year Bachelor Degree at University of Utah where he is thinking about going to school in Business. On top of that he got a $2000 Scholarship tonight for winning.

 No way it is really me that is the winner. I am in shock!!

YES..... it is real. School is paid for and so are all the books and other costs :o)

70 Schools and over 800 students was in the 13 categories and only 13 could win State! He is officially the BEST debater in Utah in 2013 :o)

State Debate Tournament 2013

Wildcats finished in 3rd after Friday & Saturday’s 4A state tournament.

This was especially impressive because the team was competing with just 19 of 25 possible team members.  ”I think this year’s team is the most dedicated and most hard-working team I have ever coached in my 22 years of coaching debate,” said Mrs. Gregg, the debate coach, “We appreciate all of the well-wishes and support during this season. .”

Highlights:

Allison Harden is the State Champion in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
McKay Holbrook & Sarah Beynon were 2nd place in public forum debate
Tuscan Thompson & Jack Brimhall were 3rd place in public forum debate
Sasha Sloan was 3rd in national extemp
Jade Hall was 4th in original oratory
Kaestle Charlesworth, Erick Luna, Wirtjo Leonard, Austin Beck, Ben Powell, Hans Pande & Millika Holbrook were all finalists (in the top 10) in there events.
Many of these students will be advancing to mock trial quarterfinals on Tuesday.

 The team that took 3rd in State the best Woods Cross have done in a LONG time!! Way to be a GREAT Debate Team President McKay!!

 McKay and Sarah took 2nd in Public Forum and rocked the house :o)

Region tournament in Debate 2013

This year McKay took part in 2 different debate categories at the Region Tournament. That is a lot in that kind of a bigger setting but guess what he did AWESOME!!

McKay took 1st in Public Forum and 3rd in Impromptu at Region. He also qualified in both events for State. He is just a wonderful debater and Mrs. Gregg told him, he is the BEST debater Woods Cross High School has ever had and she has been their coach for the Debate team for the last 17 years.
