Model UN Regional Debate Tournament March 26, 2011

McKay went to Model UN Regional Debate Tournament and they got Excellent in their performance. They also went on to the Model UN State Tournament at the end of April. McKay and his partner had to represent the US and the topic was "The Situation in Israel".

McKay was one of the 20 Students that made it on to the State Debate Tournament Team. He was one of a few Sophomores (10th graders) that got a spot on the Team for this Tournament. 

Woods Cross High School Wildcat debaters emerged from the 4A State Tournament after 17 hours of competition in 4th place out of 30+ schools. This finish is great for the Wildcats, considering that Woods Cross competes with only 75% of a full team and loose 30 points every time of the total score for the school. There were many of the Students from Woods Cross as event finalists.

McKay and the Young Men in our Ward won Regional Tournament in Basketball

McKay loves to play Basketball and every year he plays with the Young Men at our Ward/church. This year he played in the group for 14-16 year old and they won the Regional Tournament. They have NEVER done that before. They have gone to the semi-finals but never gone all the way and won.

It was fun to go to the games and see the Young Men work together as a team. They all got to play and they all had fun. Way to go guys!! You all did Great!!

Mika at Regional Solo Ensemble Competition, March 9, 2011

Mika preformed with 3 different groups and they all got 1 = A the BEST!! She had so much fun and it was awesome to go and hear her sing! She is just great!

Elk Hollow Ward Youth Conference March 4th-5th, 2011

Mika, McKay and I went to a Youth Conference in Salt Lake and we had a wonderful time. We saw parts of Temple Square that we had not seen before and parts that we had seen many times. I was there as a Youth leader but it was also fun being there as a Mom.

I will post a few different pictures of the kids. We were about 48 Youth and 10 Leaders. 1 1/2 days of great times with the Young People from our Ward.

Sing Down and Skit in the Bag Night. We had bags filled with fun things and then the Youth were put into 4 groups and given 20 minutes to come up with a fun skit on the theme of our Conference.

Mika had a fun time on a wonderful date with a great friend. They had a good time at the day activity at the mall and after they came here and had dinner. A really fun group of young people and a great night for Mika.

McKay made it on the State Tournament Debate Team

McKay went to the Regional Tournament in Debate today and he got Superior Ranking. His teacher went over and looked at the list to see how her students had done and McKay had made first place. All the Students that went on to State got the same price, but McKay still got first :o) Good job McKay and good luck at the State Tournament.

He got a coin as a price this time.
